Merchant Management
A Merchant is responsible for the sale of products and services directly to the customer. A Merchant has control over point of sales and terminals and various contracts with service providers, distributors and acquirers. A Merchant is also responsible for Bonus & Loyalty Program contracts and customers.
Merchant operations in Margento Processing System Administration are supported by managing shops and cashiers, support for Merchant contracts with acquirers and distributors, managing terminals, transaction monitoring, statistics, reports and reconciliations.
Distribution Chains
Margento Processing System supports multi-level distribution chains with monitoring of all commissions involved throughout the whole distribution chain. Service providers and distributors are provided with powerful tools that enable them to set and control commissions for sub-distributors and resellers on a very detailed level. They can define progressive scales of commissions for a specific product and set per-transaction and variable (percentage) fees.

Contract Management
Distribution Contracts Distribution contracts define relationships and business rules between service providers and distributors, distributors and sub-distributors or distributors and Merchants. With a distribution contract, the actors in the distribution chain gain permissions for distributing/reselling specific products. Additional limitations can apply. For example, a Merchant is allowed to sell a specific service between 5€ and 20€ while some other Merchants can have different limitations.
Distribution contracts define also distribution fees and commissions that can be fixed per transaction or can vary (for example, as a percentage of the transaction amount) or can also be a combination of both. Progressive scales allow having different fees for different amount ranges.
Automated cash collection is an option that allows Merchants and operators a more transparent way of doing business. When Merchants sell products or services for cash, a distribution contract can define an account that is charged for the transaction amount (optionally reduced a by corresponding transaction fee).
Acquiring Contracts Acquiring contracts define relationships between Merchants and acquiring banks or other financial institutions. They define payment instruments Merchants can employ and acquiring fees. Each payment instrument may have associated acquiring fees with it, charged by the acquirer to the Merchant. For the same payment instrument, acquiring fees may vary for different issuers.
Bonus & Loyalty Program Contracts For more information on the Bonus & Loyalty Program, refer to the Customer Management section.
Products and Services
Margento Processing System enables providers to define their own products and services. This is also a centralized mechanism to impose limits, minimum, maximum or both, ranges of valid amounts or fixed denominations. There is no need to program this into terminals as every transaction is an online transaction so every transaction is validated against the rules defined in the products and services management part of the Margento Processing System.
